On Shabbat Yud Shvat afternoon, two Jews were attacked in a stabbing attempt in Crown Heights, near Union St and Albany Ave. The assailant, unprovoked, attempted to stab one in the neck and pushed the other to the ground, causing injuries. He also threatened other passersby before being stopped by Crown Heights Shmira volunteers and taken into custody by the police. The victims were treated by Hatzalah.
The attack, which occurred in the heart of the Lubavitch community, took place precisely on Yud Shvat, the anniversary of the Previous Rebbe’s passing and the beginning of the Rebbe’s leadership. On a day that symbolizes strength and continuity, an act of hatred only reinforces the determination to respond with even more light.
