In Milan and its province, 62 billboards dedicated to Chanukah deliver a message of light and hope, promoting the values of the Jewish festival throughout the city.
In Milan and its province, 62 billboards dedicated to Chanukah have been installed as part of an initiative by Chabad Lubavitch. Inspired by similar projects in New York and Paris, these panels carry the slogan “It’s Time for Light”, offering a meaningful and visible sign of the Jewish festival in the city.
These strategically placed panels are more than just advertisements. Their purpose is to convey a message of hope and highlight the importance of light as a symbol, especially during Chanukah. For the Jewish community, they represent a source of pride and an opportunity to openly celebrate their tradition.
Chanukah, also known as the Festival of Lights, commemorates the miracle of the oil in the Temple of Jerusalem and the victory of the Maccabees. Each evening, lighting the Chanukiah becomes an opportunity to remember how even a small light can make a difference and bring warmth and meaning to those around us.
This initiative places Milan within a broader global movement, joining other cities in encouraging people to light the Chanukah candles not only as a symbolic act but as a way to make the festival’s message visible and widely shared.
The project has been made possible thanks to the support of the Jewish community and those who wish to contribute to this initiative. For more information or to make a donation, visit:
