Conclusion of the Sinai Scholars Course in Rome: A Journey of Discovery and Spiritual Growth
On November 10th, the transformative experience of the Sinai Scholars Course at Chabad of Piazza Bologna, Rome, came to a close. After eight intense and stimulating classes, culminating in a full Shabbat together, the participants celebrated their journey with an unforgettable evening.
The final ceremony began with a Havdalah, recited by a visiting tourist, adding an international touch to the event. Following this, attendees enjoyed a traditional Italian dinner featuring pasta and pizza, a convivial moment that strengthened the bonds formed throughout the course.
Each student had the opportunity to present their final project on a chosen Jewish topic, showcasing not only their intellectual growth but also their ability to apply the teachings to their own lives. The presentations ranged from reflections on Jewish identity to the search for meaning within the context of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), and the significance of observing Shabbat mindfully.
The program also included a visit to the Mikveh, providing participants with a moment of reflection on concepts of purity and renewal, which are central to Jewish life. The evening concluded with the awarding of diplomas, recognizing their dedication and the growth they achieved.
Sinai Scholars is an international program present in over 176 locations worldwide, dedicated to university students who wish to deepen their Jewish knowledge. The course covers eight lessons exploring fundamental topics: from exploring Jewish identity, to the value of time and rest on Shabbat, to integrating Torah principles into everyday life. It aims not just to impart knowledge, but to foster meaningful discussions on contemporary issues, equipping students with tools to live more consciously.
Beyond the classroom program, students gain access to Sinai+, an initiative that continues to offer educational resources, helping them sustain their learning journey even after the course concludes.
