Rome, August 28, 2024 - Over 150 young Israelis, victims of terrorism or war and guests at summer camps in Canada organized by IVOW, received a warm welcome in Rome during an unexpected stopover that took place over three different days. This initiative was made possible through the efforts of Riccardo Pacifici, president of Bet Michael, and Daniel Di Porto, who organized a memorable experience for the youth in the Italian capital.
During their stay, the campers enjoyed kosher breakfasts at local restaurants, took a sightseeing tour of Rome, and dined at Bet Michael. These activities were facilitated by generous donations from various community members, including Riccardo Pacifici, Daniel Di Porto, Moria Hackmon, and Chabad Piazza Bologna. Additionally, several restaurateurs contributed meals, including Yotvata, Renato al Ghetto, Baghetto Milky, and Bona Pizza.
The highlight of the visit was the tour of the Great Synagogue and the Jewish Museum of Rome, organized in collaboration with the Jewish Community and the museum staff, coordinated by Emanuele Di Porto.
A special thanks goes to the volunteers of Bet Michael and those who ensured the safety of the guests: the Monteverde Police Station, the Carabinieri Barracks of Cosmo de Torres, the DIGOS, and the security team of the CER and Bet Michael.
